Engaging students in content that they believe that they have no interest in is one of the greatest challenges facing faculty in the general education programs. Delivering this content in a manner that makes them understand the relevancy of learning new material has been a challenge in the age of digital delivery. Here the author presents three lessons that have been learned from the developed of a continuously
updated science textbook, and how he used that information to develop virtual lectures for students from the rainforests of Belize.
